I bought a Fake Lego whole set of The Hoopty, Captain Marvel’s ship, from her movie The Marvels. I honestly just wanted the Minifigures since I can’t justify spending around $130 (price here in the PH) for the whole official set, knowing I only wanted the Minifigures.
Take this with a grain of salt, but the quality here is probably what you’ll expect from other KO Lego sets available online. I used this as a test to see whether I wanted to pick up the fake Lego X-Mansion just for the Minifigures, but if this is the quality we’ll get, I might just try and spend more on the official Minifigures [down the line].
Off the beat, the biggest things you’ll notice are the lower print and plastic quality from Lego, and even from other KO Minifigure brands. While I’ve gotten used to low-quality prints and plastic from KO brands, I didn’t like that they still missed a lot of essentials:
– Captain Marvel’s base torso should be red
– Monica/Photon doesn’t have a feminine face
– Miss Marvel’s skin tone and prints seem off, plus the abundance of scratches on her front prints.
So what’s the brand behind this? We don’t know. Ever since Lego and China dismantled the named KO brands, we’ve been left with unidentified branded KO Lego sets that we’re unsure of in terms of quality. At the end of the day, we can’t really expect anything more since this is 1/3 (if not less) than the original price, and you’ll probably appreciate the build more than the Minifigures. I just couldn’t help but compare to how Sheng Yuan, Decool, and even Lepin did better in terms of quality years ago.
However, as a fan of both Lego and third-party brands, I can also appreciate that more of these third-party brands are doing more original or unique designs as opposed to just replicating Lego’s.

So, do I recommend this set? Probably not. If you’re lucky enough to have cheap Lego sets in your country, try to get those instead. If you’re just after the Minifigures, try secondary market sellers as well.
